Medigap Plan L

Medigap Plan L

Plan L Overview

Similar to Plan K, Plan L is one of two Medicare Supplemental Plans that offer a limited range of coverage. However, if Plan K was not a good fit due to its heavily limited range of coverage Plan L may work better for you. In all the places where Plan K offers only 50% coverage plan L offers 25% more meaning the coverage will total at 75%. This is a good choice for people who wish to have lower premiums but also would like a slightly lower deductible than with Plan K.

What Plan L Covers

As stated above Medigap Plan L offers a more limited range of coverage than other traditional Medigap plans; however, it offers 75% of the expenses which lowers premiums but raises deductibles. The plan covers 75% of the following expenses.

  • Copayments and coinsurance not covered by Medicare Part B
  • First three pints of blood drawn
  • Copayments or Coinsurance for hospice care which is not covered by Medicare Part A
  • Coinsurance for skilled nursing care
  • Deductibles for Medicare Part A
